Birthday Paint Party Ideas

Birthday paint party canvases of balloons and a cake beside cupcakes

A birthday paint party should end with a dry-enough canvas and time left for cake. Choose a subject made of big shapes. Balloons, a cake, and a flower in the guest of honour's colours are the three that work for mixed ages and mixed skill.

Balloon bunch

Three circles, overlapping, with a small triangle shine on each. Strings are single curved lines that meet at the bottom. Use the birthday colours and one extra colour so the bunch is not flat. This is the right canvas when children and adults are painting in the same room.

Cake on a stand

A wide rectangle, a smaller rectangle on top, and a triangle stand. Candles are short lines with a dot of yellow. Do not try frosting texture. A few curved strokes on the side read as layers.

Flower in their colour

If the birthday colour is specific, paint a sunflower, peony, or daisy in that colour and keep the background neutral. Everyone leaves with a picture that matches the party without painting a portrait of the birthday person.

Plan the painting for the first part of the party. Cake and gifts go better when hands are washed and brushes are in the water.
