5-Minute Crafts for Kids

Five-minute crafts are for the gap before dinner, the wait for a sibling, or the last few minutes of a class. Each one uses one or two materials and has a clear stop. They are short on purpose.
Sticker crown strip
Ages: 3+. Time: 5 minutes.
You need: a paper strip, stickers.
- Wrap the strip to check the length.
- Cover it with stickers.
- Tape the ends.
- Wear it once, then it can live on a shelf.
Do not aim for even spacing. Speed is the point.
Heart bookmark
Ages: 5+. Time: 5 minutes.
You need: a rectangle of paper, a marker.
- Fold the top corner down.
- Draw a heart on the folded part.
- Write a name if they want.
- Slip it over a page.
The fold is the whole engineering.
One-fold fan
Ages: 5+. Time: 5 minutes.
You need: any paper.
- Accordion-fold four times.
- Pinch one end.
- Open the other end.
- Fan a warm face, then put it down.
Four folds finish faster than a long accordion.
Dot border card
Ages: 4+. Time: 5 minutes.
You need: a folded paper, one marker.
- Fold the paper in half so it stands as a card.
- Make dots along the front edge.
- Draw one shape in the middle.
- Give it to someone in the house.
A card with a job, giving it away, ends the craft cleanly.
