Daycare crafts have to be safe for mixed ages, quick to reset, and possible with one adult nearby. Use large pieces, washable supplies, and a process that is finished even if a child only does one step. These crafts for daycare assume toddlers and preschoolers in the same room.<\/p>\n

One-colour dabbing<\/h2>\n

Ages:<\/strong> 2\u20134. Time:<\/strong> 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

You need:<\/strong> washable paint, cotton balls, paper, clothespins.<\/p>\n

  1. Clip a cotton ball in a clothespin so fingers stay cleaner.<\/li>\n
  2. Offer one colour.<\/li>\n
  3. Show a dab.<\/li>\n
  4. Write the child's name in the corner when they are done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    One colour keeps the table easier to wash and the choice easier to make.<\/p>\n

    Sticker-on-a-shape<\/h2>\n

    Ages:<\/strong> 2\u20134. Time:<\/strong> 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

    You need:<\/strong> a large paper circle, large stickers.<\/p>\n

    1. Hand each child one circle.<\/li>\n
    2. Offer a small pile of stickers.<\/li>\n
    3. They stick them anywhere on the circle.<\/li>\n
    4. Done when they say done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      A circle is easier to recognise as theirs than a full poster shared by the group.<\/p>\n

      Tape roads<\/h2>\n

      Ages:<\/strong> 2\u20134. Time:<\/strong> 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

      You need:<\/strong> painter's tape, a tray or the table, cars.<\/p>\n

      1. An adult lays two tape roads.<\/li>\n
      2. Children drive cars along the tape.<\/li>\n
      3. Peel the tape up at the end. That is the cleanup.<\/li>\n
      4. No glue, no dry time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Painter's tape lifts off tables more kindly than packing tape.<\/p>\n

        Big-crayon rub<\/h2>\n

        Ages:<\/strong> 3\u20134. Time:<\/strong> 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

        You need:<\/strong> chunky crayons, paper, a textured mat.<\/p>\n

        1. Tape paper over a mat or a floor vent.<\/li>\n
        2. Children rub with the flat side of a chunky crayon.<\/li>\n
        3. Look at the pattern that appears.<\/li>\n
        4. Send it home the same day.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Chunky crayons are harder to break and easier to grip.<\/p>\n
